Consensus Mechanism

Cross-Border Payments

Cross-Chain

Layer 1 (L1)

Layer 2 (L2)

A network built atop a base-layer blockchain (Layer 1) that processes transactions off the main chain for greater throughput and lower cost, while periodically anchoring state to the underlying chain for security.

Liquidity Pool

Multi-Party Computation (MPC)

Multi-Signature (Multi-Sig)

Permissionless Blockchain

Private Key

Programmable Money

Proof of Stake (PoS)

Real-World Asset

A traditional financial or physical asset—such as a government bond, real estate, private credit facility, or trade receivable—that has been tokenized and represented on a blockchain for on-chain trading, settlement, or collateral use.

Regulatory Reporting

The obligation to submit transaction data, positions, and risk exposures to regulators. On-chain activity can streamline reporting by making ledger data directly auditable, though it also raises new questions about jurisdiction and data access.

Reserve Asset
